1. Scope of Services
Jeff Steveanus provides freelance web development, IT technical maintenance, software installation, digital licensing, and systems troubleshooting as described on this website. All services are subject to schedule availability and explicit mutual agreement prior to work commencement.
2. Payment Terms
Pricing and milestones are agreed upon before initiating any work. For larger development or multi-stage engineering projects, an upfront milestone deposit is standard. Full payment is due upon delivery and sign-off unless otherwise stipulated in writing.
For storage media and filesystem data recovery, evaluation and diagnostic consultation are provided. If no targeted files or viable records can be extracted from the drive, zero service labor fees are charged.
3. Project Revisions & Scope Adjustments
Revision cycles are tailored to each project milestone and agreed upon during quotation. Feature requests or structural additions outside the documented scope will be estimated separately before implementation.
4. Intellectual Property Rights
Upon settlement of final invoices, clients receive complete ownership and intellectual property rights to custom code, assets, and deliverables developed specifically for their project. Open-source utilities published under the GitHub profile remain licensed under their respective open-source licenses.
5. Limitation of Liability
All engineering and maintenance services are carried out with professional diligence and industry-standard precautions. While exhaustive efforts are made, liability for indirect or consequential data loss is limited to the fees paid for the specific service engagement. Clients are strongly encouraged to maintain independent offline backups prior to major hardware or operating system servicing.
6. Professional Confidentiality
Client files, business secrets, server credentials, and personal communication shared during any service consultation are kept under strict non-disclosure obligations and will never be shared with third parties.
7. Governing Law
These terms and any service agreements entered into hereunder are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia.
